/credits
Shows remaining G1 credits and purchase links.
/credits belongs to the "Account" category and, according to the official reference, opens the dedicated credits panel: it shows remaining G1 credits and purchase links as well as detailed usage statistics. G1 credits are personal AI premium credits that step in as fallback billing once the plan quota is used up. Via the useG1Credits setting in settings.json (toggleable via /config), you determine whether the CLI automatically falls back to your personal credit balance when the quota is exhausted, or blocks fallback billing.
The panel also offers direct links to buy more credits or upgrade the subscription. This clearly distinguishes /credits from /usage (alias /quota): /usage shows the model-specific API quota of your plan, while /credits shows the separate G1 balance that can be topped up with money โ two different billing systems within the same CLI.

Check the remaining balance before a bigger task
Call /credits before starting a compute-intensive session, to see whether G1 fallback will be needed
Trigger a top-up or subscription upgrade directly from the CLI
Open /credits and use the purchase link in the panel, instead of manually searching for the billing page in the browser
โ WHEN NOT TO?
Checking the model-specific plan quota instead of the credit balance
/credits only shows the G1 credits balance, not the consumption of the model quota included in the plan.
Better: Use /usage (alias /quota)
