/privacy-settings
Shows and changes your privacy settings.
/privacy-settings opens your privacy settings for editing directly from within Claude Code. According to the docs, the command is only visible to Pro and Max plan subscribers โ not on the free plan. The content is mainly about consent for whether your data may be used to train future Claude models. This setting also affects the retention period: with consent enabled, Anthropic stores your data for 5 years; with it disabled, only for 30 days. The same setting can alternatively also be changed directly in the browser at claude.ai/settings/data-privacy-controls. For Team, Enterprise, and API users, separate, contractually regulated privacy terms apply anyway (Commercial Terms, optionally Zero Data Retention), which is why no personal toggle is provided for them via this command.

Check training consent as a Pro/Max user
Open /privacy-settings and check whether the use of your own data for model training is enabled.
Shorten the retention period of your own data
Call /privacy-settings and disable consent to shorten retention from 5 years to 30 days.
โ WHEN NOT TO?
Free-plan account without a Pro or Max subscription
According to the docs, /privacy-settings is only visible to Pro and Max plan subscribers.
Better: Open the settings directly in the browser at claude.ai/settings/data-privacy-controls.
Team or Enterprise account
According to the docs, Team, Enterprise, and API users are subject to separate, contractually regulated privacy rules instead of a personal training toggle.
Better: Ask your organization admin about the applicable Commercial Terms or Zero Data Retention.
