/composer
Jumps straight to the Composer model family without opening the picker.
/composer is a model shortcut: the command jumps directly to Cursor's Composer model family, without opening the regular model picker. This saves you the intermediate step via /model and navigating through the list of all available models.
According to Cursor's changelog, the shortcut remembers your last-chosen variant within the Composer family โ calling /composer again takes you back to that variant instead of a default value. New CLI sessions start with Composer 2.5 as the default model anyway.
Such model shortcuts (e.g. also /opus) can be disabled if needed: under "Model slash commands" in /config, you can hide them if they get in your way while typing prompts, or if you simply don't need them.
/composer so far only appears in the official changelog, not in the main reference table of slash commands.

Quickly switch to a Composer model without searching the picker
/composer โ right before a new prompt, when you know you want to work with Composer
Return to the most recently used Composer variant
Call /composer again after having switched to a different model like /opus in the meantime

Choosing a model from a different family
/composer jumps exclusively within the Composer family, not to models from other providers.
Better: Use /model for the full model list
The shortcuts get in the way when typing prompts that happen to start with a slash
Model shortcuts like /composer are active by default and react immediately to the input.
Better: Disable shortcuts under "Model slash commands" in /config
