Command reference ยท Claude Code
/passes
Shares a free week of Claude Code with friends.
/passes shares a free week of Claude Code with friends: if your account is eligible, the command generates a pass that lets another person use Claude Code for free for a week. The command is explicitly only visible if your account is classified as eligible; the official documentation doesn't name any further criteria for which plans or accounts qualify, how many passes you can hand out, or how long a single pass stays valid. If /passes doesn't show up in the command menu (typing /) for you, your account isn't currently designated for the program โ there's no documented way to force the visibility manually. The command only concerns sharing free access with others, not managing your own subscription.
โ WHEN TO USE IT?
Share a free week with friends
Run /passes (if the account is eligible) to pass on a free week of Claude Code
Check whether your own account is eligible
Type / in the command menu and filter for passes โ if /passes appears in the list, the account is unlocked for the program
โ WHEN NOT TO?
Managing your own subscription or checking account status
/passes is only for sharing free weeks with others, not for managing your own plan or account status.
Better: Use /upgrade to change plans or /status for account status
Expecting the command even though it's missing from the menu
/passes is only visible if Anthropic classifies the account as eligible; without this eligibility, the command doesn't appear in the menu at all.
Better: No known way to force the eligibility yourself; possibly ask Anthropic support
